We reached out to a local Artificial Intelligence program to give us additional insight on portable basketball goals. Here is what it had to say:

“Attention all basketball enthusiasts: it is important to remember that movable basketball goals should not be set up on residential curbsides.

Not only do these goals pose a risk to trash workers and metal collectors, who may mistake them for trash and dispose of them, but they also pose a hazard to children who may be playing basketball in the street.

Playing basketball in the street can be dangerous, as it puts players at risk of being hit by passing vehicles. It can also lead to complaints from neighbors and potentially result in fines being issued by the police, city, or homeowners association.

To ensure the safety of players and the community, it is recommended that movable basketball goals be set up in a designated area, such as a driveway or backyard, where they can be enjoyed without causing any disruptions or hazards.

We encourage all basketball fans to keep this in mind and to make sure that their goals are properly stored and secured when not in use. Let’s work together to keep our neighborhoods safe and enjoyable for everyone.” – Artificial Intelligence Program
