March 4, 2025 – Mitchell Wasek, the 29-year-old son of Buc-ee’s co-founder Don Wasek, has been charged with multiple felony offenses following an investigation by Texas authorities.
The case began in October 2023 when Wasek was arrested after hidden cameras were reportedly found in properties linked to his family, including residences in Lake Travis, Dallas, and Austin. Law enforcement officials allege that these devices were used for unauthorized recordings of individuals in private settings. Further examination of Wasek’s electronic devices led to additional charges after investigators reportedly uncovered inappropriate material involving minors.
Court records indicate that Wasek is now facing felony charges, including possession of unlawful material. He is currently not in custody, and legal proceedings are ongoing. His attorney has not released a public statement regarding the charges.
While Buc-ee’s itself is not involved in the case, the situation has sparked public discussion, with some individuals expressing concerns about the association.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as new information emerges.
