Harris County, TX – Authorities have identified the individuals involved in the tragic death of 18-month-old Cora, who was fatally struck by a vehicle in a driveway on Cook Road near Highway 99.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Morgan Ottiger (31), Cora’s mother, has been arrested and charged with Endangering a Child. Investigators say Ottiger was allegedly asleep or passed out in a vehicle when the toddler got out, placing her in danger.
The driver, identified as Cameron Link (40), Ottiger’s boyfriend, was pulling into the driveway when he struck the child. Authorities confirmed that no impairment was found, but Link was arrested on outstanding felony warrants for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Theft.
Officials also noted a delay in calling 911, though the circumstances remain under investigation.
This heartbreaking case highlights the dangers of lapses in supervision. Investigators continue to examine the events leading up to the tragedy. Such a sad situation for this precious child’s life that was taken.
