Amazon Van Fire Threatens Conroe Office Building, Quickly Contained by Firefighters

Conroe, TX – A van fire in the parking lot of a six-story office building in Conroe was swiftly contained Monday afternoon thanks to a coordinated response from multiple fire departments.

On March 24, 2025, at 1:11 PM, the Conroe Fire Department received reports of a van on fire at 100 Interstate 45 North, just off FM 2854. While units were en route, additional callers reported that the vehicle was burning beneath the building’s front awning, posing a serious threat to the structure.

Engine 1 arrived to find a cargo van fully engulfed in flames, with fire spreading to the awning and exterior of the six-story building. A second alarm was immediately requested to bring in more crews and equipment. Firefighters launched an aggressive attack and were able to contain the fire to the exterior, preventing it from spreading inside the structure. Some windows were broken due to the heat, and while the interior filled with smoke, it sustained no fire damage.

The fire was declared under control by 2:04 PM. No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.

Personnel from Conroe Fire Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 responded to the scene, with support from Montgomery County ESD 3, Needham Fire & Rescue, and The Woodlands Fire Department.

The Conroe Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the incident. As of now, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Thanks to the rapid and professional response by area fire crews, what could have been a devastating structural fire was quickly brought under control with minimal damage.
