Stabbing at Richardson Mortuary Leads to Shocking Discovery of 10 Decomposing Bodies; Investigation Underway

Houston, TX – April 11, 2025

A stabbing incident at Richardson Mortuary has led to a deeply disturbing discovery: at least 10 decomposing bodies were found improperly stored inside the Houston funeral home.

The situation began when a woman, frustrated by weeks of conflicting information about her deceased mother, went to the mortuary located at 3201 Brookfield Drive. She found the back doors open and the building appearing to be under renovation. Inside, she located her mother’s body in horrifying condition—covered in gnats and clearly not properly preserved.

While at the facility, a confrontation occurred with someone affiliated with the mortuary, escalating into a physical altercation. During the scuffle, the woman’s brother was stabbed. Police were called to the scene for the assault but quickly uncovered a far more serious issue.

Houston Police established a crime scene and launched a formal investigation, confirming that 10 decomposing bodies were discovered inside—some unrefrigerated and exposed. Several are believed to have been there for months, with one possibly deteriorating for over a year.

Since the story broke, more families have come forward with disturbing claims. One woman told HTX News she had been trying for months to obtain the ashes of her grandmother, who was supposed to have been cremated at Richardson Mortuary. Her calls were met with excuses, and no remains were ever provided. She was devastated to later recognize her grandmother’s body in a viral video taken inside the facility, showing multiple bodies in visible states of decay.

Families say their concerns had been repeatedly brushed off or ignored. Now, many are demanding accountability and justice, calling the handling of the deceased a heartbreaking betrayal of trust.

No arrests have been made at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with concerns about a loved one who was handled by Richardson Mortuary to contact law enforcement immediately.

HTX News will continue following this developing story and provide updates as they become available.
