The Houston Astros are the 2022 MLB World Champions after defeating the Philadelphia Phillies last night in Houston during Game 6 of the series. A parade will be held on Monday, November 7th, in downtown Houston. This will be a public event for fans to celebrate the championship win.

The route of the parade will begin at Smith and Preston streets and continue down to Smith and Tuam streets. Giving fans the chance to pack the route that will be 3 miles long. There will be several street closures and many local agencies involved to keep the event safe and organized.
Start time of the parade is scheduled for 12:00 PM. Local officials are asking Houstonians to utilize Metro public transit, which will be free for the event. Texas Southern University and University of Houston marching bands will both be making appearances.
Officials have provided the following tips before the parade:
- Use public transportation such as METRO if commuting to the downtown area, or rideshares such as Green Link.
- Hydrate! Weather for tomorrow will be mostly sunny in the 80s.
- Do not pack/squish one another. Have some space when possible.
- Pack food such as sandwiches, drinks, etc., especially for the kids.
- Wear your sunscreen, if possible.
- Wear your Astros gear!
Rideshare dropoff points
Taking rideshares to several dropoff and pickup spots around downtown is another option. There will be several points around town to get dropped off and picked up from:
- Root Square Memorial Park at 1400 Clay St.
- Allen’s Landing at 1019 Commerce St.
- Eleanor Tinsley Park parking lanes at 3600 Allen Parkway
- Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart at 1111 St. Joseph Parkway
