Brick Rodeo 2023: A Spectacular LEGO® Extravaganza Concludes.
Sugar Land, Texas – The highly anticipated Brick Rodeo convention and exhibition recently concluded in the Houston area, leaving LEGO® enthusiasts with lasting memories of a truly remarkable event. From July 6th to July 9th, 2023, the convention brought together passionate builders, curious onlookers, and families seeking a day of awe-inspiring LEGO® displays.
The convention showcased an impressive array of unique models built from LEGO® bricks, offered enlightening presentations and workshops, hosted exciting games, and provided ample opportunities for socializing with like-minded enthusiasts who share a profound appreciation for this highly sophisticated interlocking brick system.
Attendees of Brick Rodeo, were fortunate enough to witness the outstanding creativity and craftsmanship on display. The convention hall was transformed into a LEGO® wonderland, with intricate models and awe-inspiring dioramas at every turn. From towering skyscrapers to elaborate cityscapes, from intricate spaceships to imaginative fantasy realms, the variety of creations showcased the boundless possibilities of LEGO® bricks.
Throughout the event, attendees were treated to a series of captivating presentations and workshops by esteemed builders and LEGO® experts. These sessions delved into various aspects of LEGO® building techniques, design principles, and even the history of this iconic toy. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from the best in the LEGO® community and gain insights into their creative processes.

The public exhibition, open to all, was a sight to behold. The vendor booths also provided an opportunity for visitors to shop for LEGO® sets, accessories, and memorabilia, making it a complete LEGO® enthusiast’s paradise.
Brick Rodeo 2023 marked the 12th LEGO® fan convention in Texas, a testament to the enduring passion and dedication of the community. This event seamlessly combined a four-day private AFOL convention with two days of public exhibition, creating an immersive experience for all attendees.
Behind the scenes, the dedicated volunteers from local LEGO® User Groups (LUGs) tirelessly worked to make Brick Rodeo a resounding success. Their commitment to fostering a vibrant LEGO® community was evident in every aspect of the event. New members were welcomed with open arms, encouraging a continuous growth of the LEGO® family. The Brick Rodeo Board of Directors, along with the co-chairs Tim Howell, Sarah Silverman, and Steven Laughlin from the Houston Brick Club, played instrumental roles in organizing and orchestrating a truly memorable experience.
Reflecting on the convention’s history, it was fascinating to learn that Brick Rodeo had journeyed across Texas, from Austin to Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, and San Antonio. In 2020, due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the coronavirus epidemic, the in-person convention in Houston had to be postponed. However, the resilience and ingenuity of the organizers led to a successful online virtual convention, proving that the spirit of LEGO® enthusiasts cannot be dampened.
As Brick Rodeo 2023 came to a close, the sense of satisfaction and fulfillment lingered in the air. The event had not only celebrated the incredible world of LEGO® but also highlighted the power of creativity, collaboration, and the unbreakable bonds within the LEGO® community.
Looking back, attending Brick Rodeo was an experience of a lifetime. It was a celebration of imagination, craftsmanship, and the shared love for these iconic building blocks.
