Houston Police Release Composite Sketch and Surveillance Video in December Shooting Case
Houston, January 17, 2024 – In an effort to seek public assistance, the Houston Police Department has released a composite sketch and surveillance video of a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of a 23-year-old woman at 6318 Thrush Drive on December 18, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m.
The suspect is described as a black male, aged between 25 to 30 years old, with a thin build and small dreads or braids. Authorities have attached both a composite sketch and surveillance footage of the suspect’s vehicle to aid the public in identifying the individual responsible. The vehicle is believed to be an early 2000s Honda Civic.
According to Detective Z. Brumley of the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, Houston police responded to a shooting call at the specified address, where they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The 23-year-old victim was promptly transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive her injury.
Details provided by investigators reveal that the victim was shot by an unknown suspect. Following the incident, she sought refuge at a neighbor’s residence, who then made the crucial call to 9-1-1 for assistance. As of now, there is no known motive for the shooting.
