Annual Bike Ride Supports Reforestation Efforts Across Houston
HOUSTON – Cyclists of all skill levels are gearing up for the return of the Tour de Houston this Sunday, April 13, 2025. The annual citywide bike ride, now in its 18th year, begins and ends at Discovery Green in Downtown Houston and offers participants a chance to explore the city while supporting a meaningful cause.
The event features three route options to accommodate riders of all experience levels: a 45-mile training ride beginning at 8:00 a.m., a 20-mile intermediate ride starting at 8:30 a.m., and a 10-mile family-friendly ride that kicks off at 9:00 a.m. This year’s routes head west through some of Houston’s most scenic neighborhoods, including Memorial Park, Tanglewood, Piney Point Village, and Bunker Hill Village.

Along the way, cyclists can stop at rest stations staffed with volunteers offering music, snacks, hydration, medical assistance, and bike mechanics. At the finish line, riders are welcomed back with a post-ride celebration at Discovery Green featuring music, food, drinks, and a local vendor expo.
Registration for the Tour de Houston is $45, with proceeds benefiting the City of Houston’s Re-Plant Houston program—an initiative focused on reforesting and restoring green spaces across the city.
