Houston, TX – July 10, 2025 — A disabled occupant was safely rescued from a burning home early Thursday morning after Houston Fire Department crews responded to a reported structure fire in the 12700 block of Leader Street.

The fire was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m., prompting a swift response from multiple HFD units, including Cascade Truck 2. According to officials and neighbors at the scene, the occupant was unable to exit the home without assistance and was successfully removed by firefighters before the flames could cause further harm.

The fire was extinguished shortly after crews arrived. While no injuries were reported, firefighters remained on scene to conduct a full search of the residence and ensure no hotspots remained. A neighboring home suffered major smoke damage due to its proximity to the blaze.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and investigators are expected to assess the damage and review the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of Houston Fire Department personnel, a potentially tragic outcome was avoided.
