Humble, TX — Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old boy at The Oaks Apartments, located at 9310 North Sam Houston Parkway East (Beltway 8) near Wilson Road.
According to preliminary information from HCSO detectives, officers and EMS responded after a 911 call from a family member, who reported hearing a gunshot and finding the teen unresponsive inside the apartment. The teen was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that other juveniles were present in the apartment at the time of the shooting. Detectives are speaking with those individuals as part of the ongoing investigation. At this time, officials have not determined whether the shooting was accidental, intentional, or negligent.
Harris County homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigation teams are actively processing the scene. No arrests or suspect information have been released.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional details will be provided as they become available.
