Magnolia, Texas – A 16-year-old construction worker tragically lost his life after a partially built house collapsed during a severe thunderstorm on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place in the 33100 block of Willow Heights Lane in the Logan Square neighborhood.
The Magnolia Fire Department has provided updates on the situation. At 17:58, they confirmed that the victim was a juvenile male. Earlier updates indicated that at 16:55, firefighters had removed the young victim from the debris pile, but unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. By that time, everyone was accounted for, and firefighters remained on-site for cleanup operations.
The structural collapse prompted a swift response from Montgomery County’s Structural Collapse team, which includes members from the Magnolia Fire Department, The Woodlands Fire Department, Conroe Fire Department, and North Montgomery County Fire Department. The Montgomery County Hospital District was also present at the scene. The incident remains an active scene as responders continue their work and gather more information.
In a show of community support, H-E-B Magnolia Market and Chick-fil-A Magnolia provided food and drinks for the responders.
The young victim, identified as a 16-year-old male, was working at the construction site as a summer job when the severe thunderstorm hit the Houston area, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds.
