Houston, Texas – A United Airlines flight bound for New York was abruptly evacuated on Sunday morning after an engine fire forced the crew to abort takeoff at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), United Flight 1382 was preparing for departure around 8:35 a.m. when the crew reported an engine issue that quickly escalated into a fire. The situation prompted immediate emergency protocols, leading to a swift evacuation of passengers.

The Houston Fire Department confirmed that some passengers had to exit the aircraft using emergency slides, while others were able to leave safely through the jet bridge. Video footage captured from the scene shows travelers standing on the tarmac as emergency response crews worked to secure the aircraft.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the passengers or crew.

United Airlines has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, and the cause of the engine fire is currently under investigation by the FAA and relevant aviation authorities.
Travel operations at George Bush Intercontinental Airport experienced minor delays following the incident but have since returned to normal.
