HOUSTON – A woman was found deceased following a fire late Saturday night at the Tempo Townhomes on Bob White Drive in Southwest Houston.
Houston Fire Department crews responded around 10:30 p.m. to reports of a fire and arrived to find flames coming from both floors of one of the townhome units. Firefighters quickly began working to bring the fire under control and requested additional engines and a cascade truck for support.
Initial searches of the home did not locate any residents inside. However, after speaking with family members who said the woman had stayed behind when they left earlier in the evening, firefighters conducted a secondary search. During that search, the woman was found under debris and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Arson investigators were called to the scene, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The victim’s identity and age have not yet been released.
Several units sustained damage, and multiple families have been displaced. No other injuries were reported.

HTX News extends condolences to the family and all those affected.
