Pasadena, TX — Authorities have identified the man killed in the July 11 shooting at Bubba’s 33 restaurant in Pasadena as Eddie Zamora, 42. The incident occurred during a meeting between Zamora and a former co-worker, Kenneth Leon Scott Jr., who is now in custody and facing multiple felony charges.
According to the Pasadena Police Department, Zamora and Scott had previously worked together and had recently reconnected after years without contact. The meeting, arranged by Scott, took place at the restaurant, where an argument reportedly escalated into gunfire. Zamora was fatally shot during the incident, and a restaurant employee was also injured by a stray bullet. That individual was treated and later released from the hospital.
Scott, 48, fled the scene following the shooting but was apprehended the following morning in Schulenburg, Texas, by local authorities. He is currently being held in the Fayette County Jail and will be transported to Harris County. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
While police have not officially released a motive, preliminary reports suggest the shooting may have been related to a personal conflict between the two. The investigation remains ongoing.
Zamora’s family has not made a formal public statement, but relatives have confirmed he was married and working in the Houston area at the time of his death.
