The Cy-Fair Parade of Lights returned this evening to bring the community together for a night of festive celebration and support for local heroes. The parade, which kicked off at Keith Harrow & Highway 6, traveled northbound to Huffmeister Road before turning and concluding at Cy-Falls High School. Families and supporters lined the route, cheering as more than 50 entries rolled by, showcasing dazzling lights, creative floats, and holiday spirit.
At the finish line, attendees were greeted with hot cocoa, swag, and announcements of the parade winners, rounding out a joyful and family-friendly evening.
But this parade is more than just lights and festivities, it carries a meaningful mission. The event benefits the Texas Volunteer Firefighters Relief Fund (TVFFRF), a nonprofit organization that has spent over 27 years providing critical financial assistance to volunteer firefighters and their families during times of catastrophic need. Volunteer firefighters play a crucial role in communities across Texas, often risking their lives without compensation. When they face personal emergencies or catastrophic events, the Relief Fund ensures they and their families receive the support they need.
Founded to honor these unpaid heroes, the Texas Volunteer Firefighters Relief Fund has become a pillar of support for local communities. Over the years, the organization has assisted countless firefighters, offering aid for medical emergencies, disasters, and other life-altering situations. The parade serves both to celebrate the holiday season and raise awareness for the sacrifices volunteer firefighters make every day.
This year’s grand marshal was a distinguished first responder from the Cy-Fair Fire Department and Texas A&M Task Force 1 (TEEX), a 9/11 responder who continues to assist during some of the nation’s most catastrophic disasters, exemplifying the dedication and bravery the parade seeks to honor.

Tonight’s event not only brought the community together for holiday cheer but also highlighted the ongoing need to support volunteer firefighters across Texas. Events like the Cy-Fair Parade of Lights remind us of the importance of giving back to those who risk everything to keep our communities safe.
