75-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Northeast Houston Drainage Canal

HOUSTON, TX — Authorities are investigating after a 75-year-old man was found deceased Wednesday in a drainage canal in northeast Houston.

The discovery was made in the 9800 block of Ribbonwood Street near Sterlingshire Street, where a person walking through a wooded area along the drainage ditch spotted the body and alerted authorities.

According to preliminary information from investigators, the man was wearing a hospital gown and had a medical identification band at the time he was found. Officials have not yet released his identity pending notification of next of kin.
