Lineman Arrested for Vicious Assault on Colleague in Galveston

Galveston, Texas – Galveston police have arrested a lineman accused of brutally attacking a fellow utility worker who was found with critical head and face injuries. The incident occurred on the night of July 15, 2024, as the workers were repairing power lines on the island in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.

Britton Boone – Assault Victim

According to the Galveston Police Department, Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and GPD task force officers arrested 24-year-old Trevor Tedore on Tuesday in League City. This arrest came a day after police responded to a report of a severely beaten man in the 3100 block of Seawall Boulevard.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched to the sidewalk area where they found the victim, identified as Britton Boone, lying with significant injuries to his head and face. First responders rushed Boone to UTMB hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Shannon Ashley, a family member, provided an update on Boone’s condition: “Britton has been placed in a medically induced coma and is still on a ventilator. The doctors are waiting for the swelling in his head to go down before performing major surgery on his jaw.” The family has emphasized that no authorized fundraising efforts have been established and will provide updates once one is verified.

Detectives developed leads that pointed to Tedore, a resident of Sugar Land, as the suspect. The details of these leads and a potential motive have not been disclosed by the police. The investigation revealed that both Tedore and Boone were staying at a nearby hotel while working on the island to perform power line repairs following Hurricane Beryl. Authorities have not released the name of the company employing the workers.

Galveston PD – Trevor Tedore Arrest

Trevor Tedore has been booked into the Galveston County Jail on a $200,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. The incident has deeply affected the lineman community, with many expressing their support and prayers for Boone’s recovery.

Lori Walker, whose husband is also working in Texas as a lineman, shared her concern: “Praying for Britton Boone and his family. Also praying for our linemen during this crazy time when all they are doing is trying to restore power and help Texas.”

The community hopes for Boone’s swift recovery and that justice will be served. The Galveston Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.
