Katy, TX – A shooting incident in Katy has turned into a homicide investigation after the victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition, has been pronounced deceased.
Harris County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 24100 block of Avogadro Drive, near Morton Road. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim already pulled from the vehicle and witnesses attempting to render medical aid to address a severe neck wound. Emergency medical services soon arrived and transported the victim to the hospital for further treatment.
According to a witness, the suspect was seen fleeing the scene with a firearm immediately after the shooting. He was in his front yard a few houses down when the shooting took place. Harris County Sheriff’s deputies have confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.

A female was driving the vehicle with her two male cousins, in the rear seat. One of the cousins, Nicholas Jackson (43), started arguing with the victim, produced a pistol and allegedly shot the victim.
Jackson fled the scene and was soon detained by deputies. The victim was pronounced deceased at a hospital. Jackson was charged with Murder and placed in the Harris County Jail.”
