Houston Police Department investigators are working to determine the identity and circumstances surrounding skeletal remains discovered in the Spring Branch area.
The remains were discovered near the 3400 block of Blalock Road, near Colleen Road. Investigators were called to the area after the remains were located under a bridge near 3401 Blalock Road.
HPD crime scene investigators responded and began documenting and processing the scene. Authorities have not yet identified the deceased individual, and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
The remains are expected to undergo an autopsy as investigators work to determine the person’s identity and help establish the cause and manner of death.
At this time, authorities have not publicly announced whether foul play is suspected or provided information connecting the remains to any missing-person case.
Investigators will continue working to determine how long the remains had been at the location and what led to the person’s death.
